What’s in your earphones? Laura’s July Playlist
We’re only a few weeks in and July has already been a busy month for me. Here’s the playlist that has been getting me through long flights, exam results, summery days and the build up to graduation.
Calvin Harris ft. Snoop Dogg, John Legend & Takeoff – Holiday
The new Calvin Harris album couldn’t have dropped at a better time. As everyone finishes uni and jets off on holiday this track (and the whole of Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1) is perfect for getting you in the summer mood.
Miley Cyrus – Malibu
Whatever the weather or mood the relaxed summer vibes of Malibu brings a breath of fresh air to any day.
Taylor Swift – Shake It Off
This is the perfect dancing track if you’re celebrating your uni exam results this month (and celebrating the fact that Taylor’s music is back up on streaming services – Rejoice!)
Ásgeir – Stardust
Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir released his second album this year and it’s a musical treat. I’ve had this chilled out song on repeat for a good few months now.
Dan Croll – Bad Boy
It’s no secret that I’m SUPER excited to hear the new album from LIPA Alumni Dan Croll this month. Here’s one of the many catchy singles that’s been released in the build up its release.
Seramic – The Things You Do
Having been a fan of Marcus Foster for as long as I can remember I was lucky enough to see his new band Seramic support Jack Garratt on his last tour. Their soulful music is perfect for relaxing in the summer sun.
Paramore – Rose-Colored Boy
Paramore recently dropped their upbeat, vibrant new album and this song is definitely a favourite of mine.
Shawn Mendes – There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back
This is definitely one of my favourite songs to sing along to in the car at the moment.
Clean Cut Kid – Felt
Did you really go to Liverpool Uni if you didn’t see Clean Cut Kid at least once when you were there? The band never fails to deliver a catchy song and their gigs are some of the best I have been to.
Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes – (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life
July symbolises the end of university for a lot of us and with my graduation on the horizon I think it’s the best time to thank everyone who has made the past 3 years so great. You all rock!
