The Covasettes – ‘Wild’: A Review
Since their formation in 2017, The Covasettes have returned with their fourth single, the infectiously catchy ‘Wild’. The Mancunian quartet are ones to watch out for as 2018 saw the band’s fanbase grow as they reached number 6 on Spotify’s ‘The Indie List’ with the release of their previous single ‘Top Drawer’ which achieved 200,000 plays on Spotify and was undoubtedly one of my favourite songs from the summer.
Led by front-man and guitarist, Chris Buxton, his lyrics never disappoint and never fails to write vibrantly uplifting songs. I have had ‘Wild’ on repeat since its release and the single appears in-line with their signature sound of anthemic catchy choruses and upbeat guitar riffs, this dazzling little Indie tune is exactly why the band have been on the rise throughout 2018 and only appear to be getting better. Leading up to its release ‘Wild’ was hinted by the band as a track they were “immediately excited about”, and I can see why as it is certainly might be one their best releases to date as they have managed to maintain their own unique style. It appears there’s nothing The Covasettes can’t do and are certainly a band to watch out for in 2019 as this track is sure to help lead to great things.
‘Wild’ is out now, and available to listen to on Spotify.
