It may be an unearthly temperature, and that 9am seminar may be becoming increasingly difficult, but Christmas – believe it or not – is only around the corner. Just because you’ve lost the circulation in your toes due to that inefficient radiator in your room, it doesn’t mean that you have to be a Scrooge. From Christmas vintage fairs to all the best nights out; Ellipsis’s 12 Ways to get Festive in Liverpool will soon get you in the Christmas spirit.

2. Street Food Festival

If you’re struggling to retain heat, a day of stuffing your face may certainly do the trick. We all know the best part of Christmas is the food, so why not enjoy Liverpool’s independent food traders for the day; it’s got to be better than your average pasta night. Take a walk through the winter garden whilst indulging in the free samples. Ultimately, a day full of food and music is always one to enjoy.
3. Christmas Vintage Fair

Whether or not you actually require another checked shirt, you might as well pop in to the Crypt for a browse whilst doing your Christmas shopping. Plenty of denim and plenty of unique gifts that won’t go over your weekly budget. Just be sure to get there early before the best stuff goes!

It’s that time of year again where you simply cannot escape that giant red truck. It’s on the TV, and now it’s coming to your city. Head down to Williamson Square on Sunday to see the nation’s favourite vehicle; if that’s actually a thing. You never know, that ice cold can of caffeine may just ignite the motivation needed to start your essay. If not, it will definitely remind you that ‘Holidays are coming’.
5. SoulJam at Buyer’s Club
When: 7th December
Despite the ‘Superstition’, SoulJam unfortunately won’t be full of inflatable Christmas trees this December. Thankfully, it won’t be playing Mariah Carey’s inescapable hit either. However it will be a jam packed night full of Soul, Hip-hop and Disco that will definitely have you missing Thursday’s lecture. But it’s fine, because it’s nearly Christmas. You can even showcase your moves at that awkward family gathering to break the ice over Christmas.

12. The Raz
When: Every Monday
Forget Santa’s grotto when you can immerse yourself in the slippery cave of the Raz. I’ve heard it’s the best way to keep warm this winter. You’re down to your last pennies so spend them wisely on Raz bombs and Fat Frogs all night. The queue will be big but you can snuggle up to your housemates before waving them off for the Christmas holidays.
