Quote of the Week – “Open your mouth only if what you are going to say is more beautiful than the silence.”

An Arab poetic take on the simple request that if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

How many times have we each been hurt by what someone else has decided to say? Countless. As someone who’s more often than not described as “overly talkative” I guess it’s quite ironic of me to say sometimes it’s better just to keep your mouth shut.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for freedom of speech – but that comes with the responsibility and acceptance that you are responsible for what you say, including the effects and outcomes of what is said. So, choose your words carefully and know that your voice doesn’t always need to be heard if it’s only to spread negativity.
