Quote of the Week: “If you have good thoughts…”
“If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”
– Roald Dahl
After a recent trip to the theatre to see Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine, I have been re-inspired by the wonderful words of my favourite childhood author. My chosen quote of the week is from one of Dahl’s more well-known books: The Twits.
At this point in the term, every student is weighed down by work, revision, and pending exam stress; all of which are pretty negative things to think about. When studies become overwhelming, it is hard to think about anything else, let alone the glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel.
This quote reminds me that positive thinking will lead to a positive outcome, and when those around you are struggling to stay afloat, a bright smile can make all the difference.
Happy thoughts nurture the soul and will always lighten up one of those rainy April days. And, as Roald Dahl says, they will always make you look lovely (and who doesn’t want that?).
