Pale Waves @ Liverpool O2 Academy

Pale Waves have always evoked in me a certain sense of nostalgia, the emotion that comes from Heather Baron Gracie is raw and unequivocal, meaning that seeing Pale Waves live in Liverpool was never in doubt.

The gig was essentially a breakdown of their new and debut album My Mind Makes Noises, which was released on the 14 September 2018 by Dirty Hit Records, who have also signed notables such as Superfood, No Rome, Japanese House and The 1975 as well as other up and coming artists.

The band came on to ‘Television Romance’, starting off their set with one of their most well known singles and continuing that momentum with ‘Kiss’, ‘Eighteen’ and ‘Heavenly’, all relatively upbeat despite being lyrically reflective and touching. The band never broke from this momentum, playing classics such as ‘New Year’s Eve’, ‘My Obsession’ and ‘Black’ as well as new album notables ‘Came in Close’ and ‘One More Time’.

The gig itself was unlike any other and was definitely a celebratory night for the fans who had been there since the start.
