We’re offering one-to-one meetings so that you can have your work checked over by one of our committee and receive feedback to improve on future pieces you submit. Meetings are subject to availability and available for a limited time only.
We’re keen on providing you with as much support with your own writing as possible, so we’ve decided to give you the chance to organise one-to-one sessions with our committee. What are one-to-one meetings for?One-to-one meetings are for you to discuss your work with a member of the committee on a more individual basis. We recognise that university offers you very little chance to have your own non-academic work critiqued and thus fails to provide you with a platform to improve your personal writing style.
Whether you’re writing for our website or our print magazine, we’d like to invite you to set up a one-to-one with a member of the Ellipsis committee! Our committee have plenty of experience with different styes and pieces, so are best placed to answer your questions or give you a more detailed report about how your piece is doing.
They’ll show you the strengths and weaknesses of your piece, as well as give you ideas and suggestions to improve the quality of your work.
Where do they take place?
Arranged meetings will take place in the Liverpool Guild of Students, in a place both you and the committee member are comfortable. The committee member will be in touch to discuss this with you upon booking.
How do I book a meeting?
It’s really easy to do – after discussing a suitable time for you to meet your chosen committee member, simply fill in the form on the right with your agreed time and date, committee member, and the piece you would like to discuss, and you’ll receive an email to confirm AFTER a committee member has confirmed it. You will only be able to access this form if you’re a member of Ellipsis Magazine, so make sure you’ve paid up. If you’re having any trouble, don’t hesitate to get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org.
