Coming soon: the Spare Rib Variety Show!
In a part of the year where deadlines are looming and it’s dark before you even get home, a bit of glamour is more than welcome. Luckily the Spare Rib Variety show is just around the corner – featuring burlesque dancing, amongst other talents.
The event has been put on in aid of two women-centered but very different causes; the Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre, a prominent Merseyside source of care that has helped victims of sexual violence sine 1986, and Let Toys Be Toys, a campaign that pushes for closing the gender split between how toys are marketed to girls and boys. The night is set to showcase some of Liverpool’s best female talent, from burlesque to magic to music to comedy.
Organised by ex-University of Liverpool student and feminist Rose Carins, the Spare Rib Variety show takes place on the 20th of November at the Magnet. For details of the event and to book tickets, visit the Facebook event page.
